Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youths (JENESYS) Programme

We are thrilled to share the incredible experience of Daniel Mok from 5C, who was nominated by the History Department to join the Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youths (JENESYS) Programme in the academic year 2023-2024. Selected as one of the student delegates representing China Hong Kong, Daniel embarked on a 7-day journey to Japan, immersing himself in the country's rich history and culture.

During his visit to Tokyo and Kyoto, Daniel had the privilege of exploring remarkable historical sites such as the Nijubashi Bridge, Asakusa Temple, Imperial Palace, and Nijo Castle. He even had the chance to learn the art of preparing Chawanmushi, a traditional Japanese dish, at the Kyoto Food Culture Museum.

One of the most memorable aspects of Daniel's trip was spending a day with local students at the Kyoto Prefectural Miyazu Tenkyo High School. From attending architecture and English lessons to sharing delicious meals, this cultural exchange fostered lasting friendships and showcased the warm hospitality of the Japanese host family.

We are incredibly proud of Daniel for embracing this invaluable opportunity to expand his horizons and delve into history beyond the confines of the classroom and textbooks.
