Visit to "Xue Long 2 雪龍二號"

To commemorate China's successful 40th Antarctic expedition, the Green Future Foundation Association and the Polar Research Institute of Hong Kong extended an invitation for our senior form students to visit "Xue Long 2," China's first domestically constructed polar scientific research icebreaker. This exclusive opportunity was generously provided by the Environment and Ecology Bureau and took place on April 11, 2024.

The highlight of the visit revolved around the pivotal role played by "Xue Long 2" in supporting the recent establishment of the "Qinling Station" in the Ross Sea of Antarctica.

Our senior students were thrilled to have the chance to board the vessel and gain insights into China's remarkable technological advancements in polar expeditions, as well as its dedicated efforts to combat climate change. Exploring the ship provided them with valuable knowledge, emphasizing the importance for every nation to prioritize national security by safeguarding the natural environment and addressing the global issue of climate change. These actions impact not only individual countries but the entire planet.

By promoting awareness, understanding, and collaboration, visits like these inspire our students to contribute to the preservation of our environment and strive towards a sustainable future.
