Visit to the HKSKH Archives Exhibition 2024

On April 11th, the History Department organized a visit to the HKSKH Archives Exhibition titled "Anglican Beginnings in Hong Kong, 1842-1912" for F.5 History students. This exhibition provided a valuable opportunity for students to explore the historical treasures of the Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui (HKSKH).

The exhibition showcased an impressive collection of historical documents, photographs, and artifacts, many of which had significant ties to our college. As St. Paul's College was the first educational institution established by the HKSKH in Hong Kong, students had the privilege of viewing photographs of our school's former campus and gaining insights into our early headmasters. They were also exposed to prayer scriptures, early Bible translations, and other church documents from the 19th century. This visit proved to be an enriching experience as students delved into the history of the Anglican Church in Hong Kong and discovered the remarkable Christian missionary activities that took place during the 19th century. Furthermore, it deepened their understanding of the profound connection between our students and the HKSKH.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the HKSKH Archive for organizing this exhibition and arranging a guided tour for our students. This engaging event not only expanded their knowledge but also provided a unique glimpse into our shared heritage.
